The weather has turned from cold, to comfortable to hot. We started our walking tour of Novi Sad by going to the Farmers Market and having some "fried dough", ustipci, and is what they have for breakfast. Monday's are slow at the market as most people show over the weekend for food. From there we went to the Memorial square and pedestrian plaza. We saw some old architecture where the windows allowed a person to look out and see what was going on around them on the street below. There were old building with cannonball remnants still in the building. We walked to Bishop plaza and the first bank in Novi Sad.
The City Hall building, which as 16 statues of women dressed in different occupations.
Then on to the hotel in which Albert Einstein lived for 2 years and Serbian National Theatre.
We then entered the Jewish Area and were in the old synagogue, now a museum, for a very nice concert.
It was time to go back to the ship and we passed the City Assembly building with a group of protestors. No signs, just a lot of noise makers. It took us past Wedding Square, an elementary school, the old post office and into a city park.
After lunch I went back to the pedestrian plaza to pick up some souvenirs, as well as some sun screen. A nice long day.
