Traveling to Las Vegas

When I decided to go to Scoop Fest, which runs Thursday through Saturday, I knew that there was going to be an open to the public event on Wednesday night, so I decided to show up on Tuesday. That only left 3 days of vacation for the year, and so I decided to finally use some comp time and take a half-day on Tuesday so I could get into Las Vegas before dinner and see a late show. Flight was fine, my luggage came out just as I showed up at baggage, and amazingly the bus was waiting to take me and others to the Ren-A-Car facility. Once again they asked for my Drivers License at the Budget FastBreak kiosk, and then I was on my way to the Orleans hotel and casino. Check in was a snap and here I was. I had been having a conversation with another scoop who as also going to the 9:30 show and I agreed to drive them as well. As I was walking into the Hotel for check in, they saw my ATL Scoops shirt (which has nothing to do with HeyScoops.com) and then recognized me from my Facebook photo.

We left as planned to go to Treasure Island whey Mystere is playing, and the line was amazing long. We had a chance to get a picture of some people in the cast, RJ, Jimmy and Johnny, but the doors opened late and they had to get ready for the show.

I noticed some personnel changes from last year, and had a front row seat this time, it was a different show from that angle. I am coming back to Las Vegas at Christmas, and want to see the show from a higher perspective.

Show was great, I did notice that the banter between Johnny and Jimmy was different, in a better way, from when I saw it last year when Johnny was sick. They made a point to acknowledge me since i was wearing the 2 characters and a clown T-Shirt.

After the show RJ gave us a tour of backstage, and Johnny stayed behind to say hello. FYI, Johnny is a 1996 graduate of Ohio University (IFYKYK).

Back to the Hotel and some sleep.

It was a good day.
