Busselton - April 11

The Busselton trip was for 2 wine tastings and a meal. Neither disappointed. Our first stop was at Canal Rocks which "essentially an open air museum of the geological features and rocks of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge, which you can experience while surrounded by the powerful forces of wind and water that have helped shape them."

Then it was off to Clairault Streicker winery in the Margaret River region, which the wine connoisseurs on board say is the best wine producing region on Australia. We had 3 white and 3 reds. Our meal was a Burrata Cheese salad, Lamb with a baked polenta and a plum sauce and meringue for desert. The wine was not to my style, but the meal was excellent.

Off to the next stop which was the Arvina Estate winery. The location obviously decided to branch out with a restaurant and weekend music series. The grounds are designed for weddings or other large parties. We had a sparking wine, a white and a red. Again, too much tannin for my taste, but others liked it. The 5 hour trip was complete and back to the ship.
